Contact Us Turning Point: Roadway Work Zone Safety for New Drivers is a public awareness and safety campaign developed by the American Road & Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA) under Contract DTFH61-01-C-00037 with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) of the U.S. Department of Transportation. Federal Highway Administration: The Federal Highway Administration promotes safety for new teenage drivers through its Work Zone Mobility and Safety Program. This program’s objective is to enhance the safety and operational efficiency of highway work zones for all road users—including teenagers—and highway workers. As
the primary federal government agency with responsibility for building,
maintaining and repairing our nation’s roadways, FHWA feels
a keen desire to ensure the safety of our work zones for new teenage
drivers.
American Road and Transport Builders Association: The American Road & Transportation Builders Association is a national association representing the transportation construction industry. ARTBA and its state chapters have been leaders in work zone safety initiatives since their founding over 100 years ago. By working with its membership, the Congress, and the Federal Highway Administration, ARTBA promotes safety through developing and implementing programs such as the National Work Zone Safety Information Clearinghouse, comprehensive safety training, work zone safety videos, and a scholarship foundation for children of workers who have been killed in work zone crashes.
